February 11, 2025

Dear Donor,

We are excited to invite you to join the PSME Foundation Scholarship Donors Program (SDP), an initiative aimed at supporting the next generation of engineers in the Philippines. Your participation in this program not only shapes individual lives but also contributes significantly to the nation's future.

Purpose of the SDP:

The PSMEF Scholarship Donors Program facilitates donations to support deserving students through the PSME Foundation Scholarship Program (www.psme.org/scholarship). This program enables individuals and organizations to directly sponsor scholars, contributing to their educational journey and fostering the development of skilled engineers critical for our nation's progress.

Sponsorship Levels and Donation Amounts:

  • Annual Scholarship: P30,000 per scholar, or P15,000 per term.

  • Minimum Sponsorship: P5,000 per term, which is one-third of the annual scholarship benefit. Donations can be made in increments of P5,000, allowing for group sponsorships if needed.

  • Full Scholarship: A commitment of P90,000 spread over three years, starting from the first term of the second year, until the scholar graduates.

Naming of the Scholarship Fund:

  • Individual or Corporate Sponsorship: The fund will be named after the donor, e.g., "XYZ Chapter Scholarship Fund" for a donation from the PSME XYZ Chapter.

  • Group Sponsorship: In cases where multiple donors fund a scholar, the scholarship will bear all donors' names, e.g., "Asuncion-Reyes-Singson Scholarship Fund."

Allocation of Donations:

  • 100% Direct Disbursement: All donations are directly given to scholars, with no administrative fees deducted by the PSME Foundation.

Donor Commitment:

  • Formal Pledge: Donors sign a pledge detailing commitment duration and donation amount.

  • Payment Schedule: Options include annual or per-term payments, with various payment methods available.

  • Contingency Planning: The PSME Foundation ensures continuity of support even if a donor cannot fulfill their pledge.

  • Recognition: Donors are recognized through certificates, mentions in publications, event invitations, on the PSMEF website and on social media such as facebook page "Philippine Mechanical Engineering Today (www.facebook.com/PMEToday) with 81,000 follower that support this program.

Scholar Selection and Monitoring:

  • Eligibility and Selection: Based on academic merit, financial need, and course relevance, with a transparent selection process.

  • Scholar Agreement: Scholars agree to maintain academic performance and engage in program activities.

  • Mentorship and Reporting: Scholars benefit from mentorship and must provide regular progress updates.

Program Administration:

  • Transparency: Regular reports on fund status, disbursements, and scholars supported.

  • Endowment Option: Exploring long-term funding solutions.

  • Program Review: Continuous improvement of the program's effectiveness.

  • Data Privacy and Conflict of Interest: Policies to ensure ethical and confidential management.

Scholar Selection Preferences:

  • Donor Preferences: You, as a donor, may indicate your preference for the school or city/province where the scholar will be chosen. While we strive to accommodate these preferences, please note that the final selection remains at the discretion of the PSME Foundation Scholarship Committee, ensuring a fair and merit-based selection process.
